We are in areas with no cell signal and internet for days!! Really, what's that? So when I get a strong enough signal, I will publish a bunch of pictures from Shiloh and other river and Marina pics. We left Aqua Marina, Pickwick Lake, Kentucky, on Sunday AM. Got a late start as we had to pump out and they didn't open till 8 am. We cruised down the Tenn Tom. Our first lock was an 85 ft drop, the rest have been a simple 30 ft.
We have been running with a buddy boat (53 ft Selene) that cruises a little slower so we are running at between 6 and 8 knots (saving lots on fuel) - am up to about 2.3 miles per gallon! We spent the last two nights swinging on the hook. This morning we had a beautiful run through 3 locks. We went through the first one before sunrise! Tonight we are in a Marina in Columbus, MS. We have meet some great people and we kind of go in and out of each other's lives as move down the river. All are heading south. I would say we have made three good sets of friends that we will see each other off and on over the next 6-9 months. Tomorrow we are off solo for a two day run to Demopolis, AL. We will anchor out some where 60-75 miles down river. We plan on spending two nights in the Marina and then a 217 mile run to Mobile. The plan has us being in Mobile on the 14th or 15th. Brigitte will fly home on the 16th and Cody and I will hang for 8 days till she comes back. Then off to Florida !
