I thought I would update you all on what has been going on with the Adventures of Putz"n Around!
On the 27th of October we left MN. and drove through Racine WI and picked up our new dingy. Along the way we stopped and visited dear friends in Sevierville , TN. We arrived at Owl Creek and picked up the boat on October 31st and headed down river for a months stay at Legacy Harbour Marina in Fort Myers. We had a great time there seeing friends from the previous 2 seasons.
We took a cruise to Palm Island for Thanksgiving with friends from SnookBight, Howard and Wendy and Dave and Claudia. Thanksgiving Dinner was a fabulous buffet at a restaurant on the island.
We spend two nights there and then cruised back and anchored on the East side of Useppa Island. This is very close to Cabbage Key. The Island is very private, think life styles of the rich and famous. Our friend Wendy knew someone that belong to the Yacht club and we ended up getting an invitation to visit the Island. Beautiful gardens, homes, and tortoises roaming the grounds. The following day we cruised down to Captiva Island and spent the day at the Marinas pool. The following day we headed back to Legacy. What a great 4 day trip with friends.
On December 1st we cruised down to Fort Myers Beach and SnookBight Marina where we spent two months. We had a wonderful time with friends and enjoyed Docktails and many walks on the beach. We really got to test our new dingy and lift system here and cruised Estero Bay and around the Island.
We flew home for Christmas and had a blast with the kids and our Granddaughter Soren!
On January 25th we headed out for the East Coast of Florida where we will wait for a weather window to the Bahamas. We cruised with Tom and Julie Van Hall on Sum Escape from FMB to Moorehaven the first night , about 78 Miles. We had a great trip with a perfect day. Yesterday we left Moorehaven at 7:30 in moderate to heavy fox. Since I was leading the Radar was on assisting in our travels. We crossed Lake Okeechobee in about 2 1/2 hours, we encountered a medium chop of about 2 foot on the beam.
Our floatilla of 2 boats arrived in Stuart around 4:30, and tied up at Sail Fish Marina. Today we spent the day at the Stuart Seafood Festival.
On Monday we are headed towards Fort Lauderdale and will meet up witht Carol and DeVere Dennings on the M/V Job Site. If weather holds our fleet of three will cross to Bimini on Wed morning. Our adventure continues, stay tuned.
